Adios Polly!

Let's welcome Space Odyssey into the family!!!

It is official - I traded in Polly Pathfinder - I am now a minivan mom :) I NEVER in a million years thought I would ever say those words, but 3 kids later, I am proud of it - lol. There was just absolutely no way that 3 car seats would fit in my car so we decided it was time to get a family car. I searched hard and found one with super low miles that we could pay cash for (we saved and saved for this knowing it was coming) and I am super proud of us for this. We still have no car payments yet have a 2008 Honda Odyssey with 35,000 miles. It feels great. It is such a smooth ride that I really have to watch what speed I am going. It is also hands down so much easier to get the kids in and out of. No more hitting Will's head on the ceiling getting him in. So much nicer. I am just so happy with our new car.

Bye bye Polly:

Carolyn is 18 Months Old

How is she already a year and half old? She really is a special little girl. Her language skills and understanding really grow every day. It is so fun to watch. Right now her favorite things are Sesame Street and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (surprise there huh). She knows all the characters' names and yells them out at the screen when they come on - so cute! She also loves to run - she runs all through out the house and is getting pretty fast at it too. I love the pitter patter of her little feet. It makes me smile. Carolyn knows TONS of words and loves to help me around the house. She goes and gets the step stool so that she can help me load up the washing machine :) Such a little helper. Overall she is just such a happy little girl - I couldn't ask for anything else.

We had her well-visit check up last Friday and she checked out just fine! She is just an overall big girl. She weighs 26lbs 2oz (75%) and is 33" tall (90%. Her head is a ginormous 48.5cm (95%). No wonder the toddler hats barely fit her. She is right on schedule for all of her milestones and she handled her shot like a champ - only cried for a split second. We don't go back until she is 2 years old!

37 weeks

I am officially full term! It has been another uneventful pregnancy and I am so thankful for that. I had my appointment today and I am definitely making progress. A week ago at my 36 week appointment, I had made no progress but I was soft. Well, this has been a big week I guess because when she checked me again I am dilated to 2cm and am starting to efface so yeah - it really could be any time. I have had a few good contractions this week too. Eek! Blood pressure is good and his heart rate was at 145 today so he is doing well too. He sure as heck moves enough for me to know that.

Part of me is scared and not ready - heck - we don't even get our minivan home until probably Thursday. I still have a few things to do for his room too so it is overwhelming to think it really could be anytime and I need to get a move on it. If I do to make it, the inducement date is set for April 6th with the hospital. I am supposed to call that morning early and make sure they can still fit me in so there is still a small chance that I could be bumped back a day or a week - who knows. So for now, we sit and wait :) Here is me and my big old belly:

Happy 30th Jake!

Jake finally made it to his dirty 30's like the rest of us! We had great plans to have some people over to eat delicious food and play games but it just didn't work out :( Our kids were sick - well Will just had gotten over his but Carolyn was right in the middle of a nasty cold. She had a nice big fever so we had to cancel. Didn't want anyone else's kids getting sick from her. Anyways - I made Jake a deliciousbreakfast and then we ate Indian food for lunch - boy did it hit the spot for me. Yum!! The boys then went sledding in the backyard while Carolyn and I watched from inside. They had so much fun! The new sled is much faster than the other one. I wish I could have gone out there sledding too but I think I would have hurt myself - lol. Way too pregnant ;) Will and I made Jake a tres leches cake since it is his favorite and Will wanted to make it blue - so fun! Jake loved it. Happy Birthday Jake!

Just Because

I think my kids are adorable!

Will's latest obsession:

Carolyn is really starting to love dolls. One of her faves is my Pistol Pete from when I graduated college. It is one of a few she sleeps with every night. Go Pokes!

Playing with Daddy

They are so cute! Getting ready to go to a birthday party.

Watching Discovery take off

We couldn't be there in person for this so the next best thing is the tv! Luckily we have the NASA channel so it pretty much played all day until after blast-off. I don't know if you know this but my son absolutely loves all things space - rockets, the sun, planets, etc. He is always asking questions and he says he wants to be an astronaut when he grows up so he can visit the moon. Well anyways, this was perfect! I woke him up from nap so we could watch it together in real time and man he was so excited! I was too! Here is a video of us watching and a picture because really, this is a historical event. This was Discovery's last expedition.
