Culture Night

Will's school held a Culture Night last night that help the kids to explore the various cultures that are a part of Clover Ridge!  It started off with a fashion show of some of the teachers and students wearing traditional outfits from where their families are from.  Then each of the clusters had various kinds of ethnic foods for everyone to sample!  Will also got to show off his Aborigine art that he colored.  He was so proud of it.  Some of what was offered was caramel apples (America), Russian wafer cakes, chips and salsa & Mexican arroz con leche, Indonesian chicken satay (a favorite with my kids), and Taiwanese pineapple cakes!  There was tons more to try but we couldn't get to them all!  We ran into one of Will's best friends so he was over the moon with having fun. Jake had to go to a planning commission meeting for our small town, so he was bummed to  miss out on all the good food!  We have lots of years of this school so he will get to go next year!

Brushes & Brews

Last night, BJ and I had a ladies night out!  We signed up for a painting class called Brushes & Brews.  They had a class in Eden Prairie last night so she signed us up!  I have always wanted to do one of these paint classes and let me tell you - it was just as fun as I imagined.  I am no painter but I think mine turned out pretty well! The teacher walks you through the whole class in a way so that everyone can do it.  I hope I can do it again sometime!

Will's 4th Tooth is OUT!

He is super pumped that each of his teeth were lost in different way.  The first, his daddy pulled, the second, the school nurse pulled, the third, he did (with help loosening from mom & dad), and the fourth, he loosened himself and it fell out over night.  He woke me up at 4:45 am to say his tooth fell out while he was sleeping and that he found it!  It was seriously that super loose.  Glad that sucker is out!  He is missing his 2 front teeth so I call him toothless :D  Good mom, I know!

Happy New Year!

We had a wonderful New Years Eve!  We hung out at the vG's again and had so much fun!  I was asked to bring appetizers and dessert.  I made a cilantro jalapeno dip (seriously incredible and I highly recommend), bruschetta, and bacon wrapped brown sugar lil smokies.  For dessert I made a pumpkin pie with a gingersnap crust and brownies for the kids.  All were hits!  The kids just ran around like crazy people and the only one who didn't make it to midnight out of my crew was Charlie!   We didn't stay the night this year so shortly after midnight, we packed up the kids and headed home.  New Years Day was pretty chill - which coincides with the awesomeness that was the entire winter break.  We could not have started off the year any better!
