We are crib free

Much sooner than I was prepared for, we are officially crib free.  Charlie decided he would start crawling out of his crib and he thought it would be fun to just come right on into bed with us one morning.  We heard a thud and then the pitter patter of his little feet make his way to us.  I was hoping it was a fluke but it wasn't. I was going to initially just flip the crib around so the short side was in the back but it turns out I am too short for that and wouldn't have been able to get him in the crib that way.  I may or may not have shed a tear over this.

Is this how I get out of the bed?
Oooh - Maybe this is how I get out...
So grown up!
Sad Lexi
Because I can't get over his cute-ness!

5k Beer Running Tour

I find the craziest races!  I was looking for a turkey trot for Thanksgiving and I came across the City Running Tours 5K  Beer Tour Run on the day after Thanksgiving.  I mean - they combined running with beer!  What could be better than that!  Luckily Bert and Jacob agreed :D  The weather was about 28 degrees out for our run so we bundled up in our running gear and headed to downtown Minneapolis.  We met at the Mary Tyler Moore statue and then took off with our tour guide towards Twins Stadium.  We ran around that and then headed over the river, all while listening to the guide tell us about various buldings.  At mile 2, we stopped at a little pub and got to taste 3 different types of beer.  They had a table set up for us and the tour guide talked all about the different beers we tasted.  Then we took off back across the river where we ended up at a pub and he bought us a pint of beer.  It was awesome!  I HIGHLY recommend you look City Running Tours (here) and do one in the city nearest you.  So much fun.
The building on the left was built by IBM and was built to look like a circuit board.  The building on the right is a suspension building.  It is being held up by the big cable in the middle and it has sunk 10" since it was built in the 90's.  It continues to sink until it eventually will not be usable anymore.
Stop for beer tasting
A 2 story Target.  My dream come true.
Target headquarters - they run an aquarium on the top floor.  Super fun!

Visiting Santa

Santa returned to the Mustard Seed again this year!  It went just about how I expected it to - Will loved it but Carolyn and Charlie were terrified.  Thankfully it was free pictures so no biggie.  I suspect it will be a few more years before we get everyone to not be afraid.
Seeing the reindeer first:
She spotted the man in red.  Uh-oh!
Will just  chatting him up for like 5 minutes.
Carolyn wanting nothing to do with it.
Not so sure about this.
He gave it a go.  Mostly he just wanted the candy cane.

Thanksgiving 2012

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving way up here in Minnesota!  We had Bert, Sandee, Grandma Wagner, and Aunt Nancy all here to stay with us for the week.  It was an amazing week and I am so thankful for having such an awesome family and friends.  The Baker family also came over to eat delicious food and chat.  too.  I was glad they were able and willing to join in on our celebration! It was a turn of events for me to have a kiddie table and not have to sit at it :D It also snowed a bit for everyone! It started out a nice mild day but by about 4ish, a cold front moved through and we got some big fat snow flakes! It was fun! We have been here for 3 Thanksgivings and it has snowed for 2 of them. Crazy!
Enjoying a Cranberry Mimosa!  Yum!
