A Spring Break at Home

We had a super low-key spring break this year. It was pretty chilly out so we just stayed home! On the Sunday before, Carolyn and I went to JoAnn fabric and she picked out some crafts to do for her and her brothers. It did finally warm up on the weekend (like almost 60!)so we grilled! We haven't grilled in several months and it is one of the things I look forward to after the big thaw. The kids were able to go outside on the deck without being decked out in full cold weather gear - they loved it! We couldn't let them in the yard just yet though because there was still a bit of snow that needed to melt off and it was pretty yucky in the yard. They didn't mind though! It was a nice break from school for the kids :D

I overwintered the strawberries and finally got them out. She was helping me water them. Hopefully some survived.

Charlie's Happy Feet

We signed Charlie up for soccer this spring!  It is obviously inside at a local elementary school since it is still pretty cold here.  They sing songs and play little games (not actual soccer games) to learn the basic fundamentals of soccer.  The coach is so great with the kids (all 2-3 year olds)!  He has so much energy to play with them.  Charlie really enjoys it!  He laughs and smiles the entire time! I noticed something too - Charlie tries to kick the ball left footed! I got to take him by myself on Saturday so I took the good camera and snapped some pictures.

Happy Birthday Jake!!

My favorite man is another year older! He was spoiled all day (well, maybe not at work - lol)!  Carolyn was so excited for his birthday that she wanted to decorate all by herself (I had to help hang but she told me where to put it).  She also made signs :D  Carolyn and I made him his favorite cake - tres leches - and he loved it!  Happy Birthday Jake - you are so loved!

Amazing Athletes

I signed Will and Carolyn up for an after school program called Amazing Athletes, which will expose them to a variety of sports for fun.  It is on Wednesday afternoons for a bit more than a month.  On their first day, nd they got to play with some football and swing a tennis racket.  They also did some just general play stuff. They both really enjoyed it!

Dentist Time!

We had the kids dentist appointments today and it was Charlie's first time.  He did so well - no nerves at all!  Will also had x-rays done for the first time and he wasn't scared at all!  No cavities for anyone!  Yay! We tried to put the sealant on two of Will's permanent molars on the bottom but he was too squirmy so we will try again in 6 months and hopefully the top two will be all the way in.  Will has also been complaining that one of his bottom teeth in the front was hurting when he eats apples and it is totally because it is loose!  It looks like he will be losing his first tooth soon.  Time to make sure the tooth fairy is ready!

Jammie Jamboree

Last night we had family night at Will's school - the Jammie Jamboree! All the kids were to wear jammies and they had raffle prizes, a used book sale, ice cream, games, book readings, face paintings, and music and dancing.  The kids loved it!  I sure hope I win the gardening prize but the kids are hoping for the red beta fish.  I was totally hoping they would have a wine basket :D Will's favorite part was meeting and listening to a real race-car driver read a book.  It was a lot of fun!
