Minnesota Renaissance Festival

This weekend was the opening weekend for the Minnesota Renaissance Festival! We absolutely love going here to see the events and the costumes.  I am hoping that one year I can get to wear a costume!  Jake too - we both ooh and aah and all the stuff, and they have some pretty cool stuff!  We saw some really neat alchemy belts and arm bands so Jake is mulling over what he wants to dress as.  Being a healer is right up his alley so I wouldn't be surprised if he went that way.  We ate some delicious food there and of course - Jake got a turkey leg!  I mean - you can't go to a renaissance festival without getting one!  We ended up getting the kids a fruit smoothie too to share.  They loved that!  We also got the watch the parade go by as we ate lunch.  I have never seen the parade before and it was neat!  We saw all kinds of fun costumes. Something they did this year that the kids enjoyed was a scavenger hunt for faeries!  They found 5 of the 8 - and we were told that was really good!  The kids earned a necklace that had dragon scales on it and if we go back to the fair and do the faerie hunt again - they can earn more dragon scales to add to the necklace.  The kids had a lot of fun and were so determined to find the faeries!  We let them ride one ride and they picked a swing that they could all ride together.  The guys who were pushing it really let them go a long time so the kids loved it! We were only there for about 3 hours and the kids were so worn out!  Such a good time.
Loved they had a palmist named Carolyn!

Our feet were filthy by the time we were done!  We all had to take showers when we got home.

Carver Touch A Truck

This year, we went to Carver's Touch A Truck instead of the one in Chaska.  I am so glad we did!  It was way less crowded and just had a better vibe.  We even got to see the medi-flight helicopter come in for a landing in the baseball field.  The kids and I loved that!  They even got to sit in all the vehicles without long waits and got to hand crank an old siren on an old fire truck. Super fun!  I love living in a small town!
Waiting in the car for it to start!
