Our Halloween Day!

We had a busy day!  We painted and carved our pumpkins (even Will got in on the action!), ate mummy-dogs for lunch, trick-or-treated, and ate "ghoul"-ash for dinner! I took the kids out this year and Jake stayed home to pass out candy.  Will wanted to be an Ender Dragon from Minecraft, Carolyn picked Snow White, and Charlie wanted to be a Cheeseburger.   We ended up tagging along with a neighbor who has twin girls that go to school with Will.  It was a lot of fun!  One house even had adult treats (pudding shots with vodka) and I totally got mine!  We were out for a few hours and the kids buckets were full.  I was smart and brought a paper bag just in case and sure enough,  halfway through, Charlie started saying his bucket was too full so I emptied it into the bag I brought.  When we got home, we ate dinner and the kids passed out more candy.  They loved that too.  Happy Halloween!

Here he is with his dragon head.  He ended up not wanting to wear it out since he couldn't see out and it was heavy.  He looked awesome though.
 And they are off!

Carolyn's 2nd Tooth is OUT!

Yay!  It is the bottom left tooth and the permanent tooth is pretty much already grown in behind it. It has been loose for a super long time and for the past 3 days it has been hanging on by one root.  She wouldn't let us pull it though (she is a stubborn one - I blame her father).  Today though, we talked about all the foods that hurt to eat her that are her favorites, like bagels, and waffles, and apples.  I think that and the promise of ice cream, popsicles, and candy did the trick to let me try.  It took no effort at all and when it was out, she was so relieved!  She told me how much better it felt and that it didn't hurt at all!  Will is going to be so jealous when he comes home that his little sister has lost more teeth than him :D We have the tooth all ready for the Tooth Fairy to visit tonight!

Pumpkin Patch Visit!

It was a gorgeous fall day so we decided to hit up the pumpkin patch before football started!  We each picked out our own pumpkins and then Charlie kept picking the tiny little ones they had too.  So much fun!

Apple Orchard Field Trip with my Pre-schoolers!

This morning was Carolyn and Charlie's first field trip this year!  It was to the same apple orchard that we went to last weekend so we kind of knew what was going to happen :D   I was able to take Carolyn along with Charlie and me with Charlie's class.  We got to go through the sunflower maze, which we rocked, and then they took us out to the apple trees!  It was interesting!  We learned that the orchard has about 300 acres of trees with around 50 varieties of apple trees.  Some varieties have only 4-5 trees while others have obviously more. We then were taught the correct way to pick the fruit so that the branches are not damaged - you twist until it comes off - never pull.  We got to pick one apple to eat and one to take home.  Of course we ended up eating 2 and bringing one home :P. Then we were each given apple donuts to eat!  Yum!  We all had a good time this morning.
Bus time!  I made sure to take my dramamine.
