Carolyn's 5 year check-up

It went very well!  I had prepared her in advance that she would be getting shots so that she could go to Kindergarten next year and that they would hurt.  I was still super nervous though because Will handled his so bad.  She was a rock star though!  She whimpered some and when we told her they were done, she pretty much stopped and the nurse gave her some gum and she forgot all about it.  Phew!!  Her and Charlie also got their flu-mist today too so it was a full appointment!  They checked Carolyn's hearing and vision and she passed both with flying colors - although the nurse did say that Carolyn did have 100% perfect selective hearing :P  She measured in at 46.25" tall (97%) and weighs in at 47.6lbs (88%) so she continues to grow consistently from year to year!  She is a tall girl! Cheers to a good appointment!

Happy 5th Birthday to my Very Own Princess!

Five years ago, my life changed in a way I couldn't imagine!  My little baby girl was born! She truly is a neat little person who lives life on her own terms and is just precious to us.  I asked her how she wanted to celebrate her special day, and even offered to take her to Mall Of America to let her ride rides all day at Nickelodeon Universe but she picked to have the vG's over for pizza and cake!  To her, it isn't a party without our very best friends!  Today at school, she got to wear her crown and pass out treats to all her friends.  She got lots of well wishes from her friends and family and she is one loved little girl!! Happy Birthday Carolyn Sophia!

Carolyn Lost Her First Tooth!

She was so brave too when I pulled it out.  Her permanent tooth started coming in a moth or so ago so I have really been pushing her I wiggle her tooth. Well yesterday was the day she said "I want Daddy to pull my tooth so I can get an icee pop". So we really went to work on wiggling since it wasn't quit loose enough. We did get it loose enough to try to yank it out but the tooth was so smooth and little that we couldn't get the string on there! So finally at bedtime, I asked if I could have one more go at it and I got it! She didn't flinch or anything! We all celebrated and she gt we icee pop and went straight to bed so the tooth fairy could visit. My big girl!!

Carolyn & Charlie Start Preschool!

That is right folks, my two littlest started preschool today.  You know what that means don't you - 2.5 hours by myself!  It is so bittersweet.  Everyone keeps saying how excited I must be but I am really not!  I miss them when they aren't around.  I am sure we will all adjust to the new school year though! At drop-off, Carolyn kept saying how nervous she was to start a new year of school but once we got there she was just fine!  Went right on in like it was nothing.  Charlie was super excited!  He started asking me if it was time to go from the minute breakfast was over.  He went right into his classroom and barely said bye to me before he was off!  At pick-up, they both ran up to me and were so excited.  They had a great day and can't wait to go back on Monday.  My babies are growing up!
